Cancer has to do with emotions and our homes and our families. The Moon’s home base is Cancer, so the Moon feels the most at home here. When the Moon is in Cancer it is a time of deep emotions. It’s a time when we can connect with people on a deeper level, especially with our families. It is a time when we yearn for peace and serenity. It is not a good time for change, as we will resist any kind of change during this period and we will be more attune with things that are familiar (notice that the root of the word “family” is “familiar”).
Anything you would want to do around the home now would be favored, especially making your home a more comfortable place. Also anything having to do with helping your family or nurturing your family is very beneficial. Family get-togethers can be very harmonious during this time, especially if “neediness” is not involved. People can tend to be a little more secretive and moody during this time and also overly-protective.
This can be a very healing time and a wonderful time to really connect with our deepest desires and what it is that drives us. Be very careful during this time about your stomach, gall bladder, and lymphatic system. Avoid over-eating, especially “comfort” foods. Give your family a big hug and tell them you love them.

My Life Is Better Than Your Vacation
Reflections on a Bali Bumper Sticker – from Tom Margrave
Wow! I couldn’t help but laugh out loud. I was driving on my scooter through the center of Ubud, in Bali, just past the Royal Palace. As I pulled up close to the minivan in front of me, just below the back window, I saw the bumper sticker: “My life is better than your vacation”.
How incredibly amusing, thought-provoking and smug, all at the same time! I continued to ponder the “bumper snicker” as I proceeded on my way. On the one hand, the statement was exceedingly arrogant. The person who placed the sticker obviously has no idea about the lives of those who will read it and therefore is in no position to make any such judgment.
On the other hand, however, it is also an expression of absolute confidence and sincere appreciation. Confidence that this person has such a wonderful life that it is better than anyone else’s – even their vacations. And appreciation because he knows it and wants to let everyone else know. He is not taking it for granted.
If we accept that the arrogance is really just in fun, then overall I think the bumper sticker is expressing a tremendously positive sentiment. How great would it be if we all felt that way about our lives? It sets a really high standard, doesn’t it?
As I pressed on, however, the mental gears continued to turn and another thought popped into my head. You know, as wonderful as this person thinks his life is, he has never had a Sedona Soul Adventures sacred travel experience – one of our vacations. And in particular he’s never experienced our Bali Sacred Spirit tour.

Taurus is the bull and although this is a time when people can be very stubborn, it is also a time when we are attracted to calm and comfort., especially in our homes and our surroundings. When the Moon is in Capricorn it’s a time of being dependable and following through. People will be working harder and it’s a wonderful time to really utilize your concentration and your focus. Capricorn is continually striving for financial security, so making efforts along that line will be very good. People may seem a little more stern during this time (as they are focused on their own concentrated efforts). But within the family, this is a time that brings out familial connection.
It’s a very good time to begin construction or to sell real estate and it’s a very good time for communication with influential people. Be careful of your knees during this time. When the Moon is in Sagittarius it is a time of enthusiasm, idealism, generosity and it ignites desires for adventure and travel. People are generally very expansive during this time and it’s also a time that brings out our desire for independence. For work, this is a wonderful time for expansion, especially if your work has to do with studying, teaching, anything having to do with travel or foreign lands. It’s also a wonderful time to attend workshops or seminars or for any type of outdoor recreation.
Sagittarius rules the lungs, so be very careful of your lungs and respiratory system. This is not a good time for medical procedures that involve the lungs, but a wonderful time to use breath as a healing practice. It’s also not a good time to start building or construction. Also be on the look-out for people being untruthful with you (including stealing from you) and be careful to not over-indulge in gambling. If you are feeling restless, just take a breath and remember, “this too shall pass”.

Gratitude, Weight loss, Happy Job
Many of you know that on the first Tuesday of each month I do the “Sedona Sharing” group coaching call which is only for our Sedona Soul Adventures “grads”. They are always fun and uplifting and this one was especially so, so I’m sending a recording of it to you as my gift.

Clean closets, lose weight, make money
Did you know that getting rid of clutter can make you lose weight and bring more abundance into your life?
It’s spring and now is really the time to clean clutter out of your life. Clutter is stuck energy and moving clutter out of your life has incredible benefits. One of my favorite titles of all time is “Does This Clutter Make My Butt Look Fat?” and Peter Walsh discusses this connection extensively, between holding onto weight and holding onto “stuff”. In most of her books, money guru Suze Orman recommends that the first part of dealing with money issues is to clean out closets and drawers. Making room and bringing in the energy brings more of what you want.
This past year I did two things which have made an incredible difference in my energy level. I did a complete purge of my entire house and garage and office and had a huge garage sale. I sold everything at dirt cheap prices, and I was amazed at the amount that came in.
I also completely cleaned off my bathroom counter from all the lotions and potions that I always used to keep out. I got rid of things I hadn’t used for a long time and put the rest in the medicine cabinet or in the closet. Doing this one thing has had an absolutely amazing impact on how I feel each morning when I first get up. I didn’t realize how energy draining it was to see all this stuff on the bathroom counter until I didn’t see it anymore. Even though it’s been almost a year since I’ve done this, I get this little energy boost every time I walk into my bathroom.
So with spring here, it’s the perfect time to take advantage of the spring energy boost and clear out that clutter. Here are some tips that if you follow them mercilessly (and I do mean “no mercy”), you will be amazed at the lift it will make in your energy level.
• If you have some areas that are incredibly cluttered, take three large boxes marked “Keep” “Trash” “Donate” (meaning you are going to donate the item to charity). Just keep going through everything until you have gone through everything. Throw out the “Trash”, stack the “Keep” boxes and take the donations immediately. Next, spend 15 minutes each day going through “Keep” boxes and putting them in their proper place.
• Go through your winter clothes before you store them away. If you didn’t wear something this past year, throw it away or give it away. This is where the “no mercy” comes in. And definitely DO NOT keep something if you are telling yourself you are going to lose 10 pounds and next winter you’ll be able to wear it. These are the items that should go first!
• As you go through your winter clothes, try on everything that you have a question about. If it doesn’t look great, feel great and make you feel like a million bucks, get rid of it. Everything in your closet must look great and feel great, even if it’s what my sister calls her “fat jammies”; they feel so great when you put them on.
• Do the same process with your spring and summer clothes. Try things on and if you don’t look great and feel great in them, put them in the trash or donate them (to a charity or a friend).
• This is a hard one but the rewards are incredible. Keep this rule in mind. “Flat surfaces are not to be used for storage”. The only things that should be on your kitchen counters are small appliances. The only thing that should be on your desk is an In and Out box (and possibly a pen holder). As I said this is a hard one (and one that I must admit I’m only 90% in compliance with).
• It’s okay to have one junk drawer per person in your household. But try to figure out if you can organize the junk drawer a little bit by having small trays with different types of junk.
Most people I know feel overwhelmed by their clutter. If you would spend 15 minutes each day for the next 2 weeks you will be amazed at what will happen. Get up 15 minutes earlier because this stuff only gets done at the beginning of the day, not the end of it.
And lastly, how are you clearing the clutter from your mind, sometimes our minds are so full of things that don’t serve us anymore that we feel lethargic and overwhelmed, lost and unfulfilled – we lose our sense of purpose and start to wonder if we’ll ever get off the hamster wheel.

The Moon in Scorpio brings out deep emotions and also connects with our intuition and the unknown. It is a very good time to activate deeper levels of your consciousness and to access deeper levels of your intuition. Scorpio is a very sexual sign, so it is a good idea to avoid sexual entanglements, but it can be a wonderful time to connect on a deeper level emotionally with your Beloved. Because emotions can be so strong and intense during this time, it’s a good idea to avoid family gatherings, especially where they may turn volatile.
In work, Scorpio is a wonderful time for deep focus and concentration of the mind. It’s a very auspicious time for psychologists and psychiatrists and for people who work with the sciences, because of this focus on concentration of the mind. Be very careful of over-indulging in food or alcohol and be mindful of caring for the sexual organs, endocrine system and the large intestine. Best to avoid surgery of these areas during this time.
