Announcing our 10-week “Opening To Your Intuition” Masterclass, starting August 14

Our first Opening to Your Intuition class was such a resounding success! Plus we had so many people who couldn’t do it in March who asked us to do it again, so that’s exactly what we’re doing!

I’m so excited to announce another “Opening To Your Intuition,” a 10-week personal and professional development training program created and taught by one of our fabulous Practitioners, Komala Rohde.

Komala is an internationally known teacher of intuitive work and meditation and we are so excited to offer this fantastic program to you.

The 10-week class starts Saturday, August 14. We will meet on Zoom each Saturday from 9:00-11:00 am Pacific time. Each class will be recorded, so if there are any classes you can’t attend, you’ll always have the recording.

All of us have the ability to connect with the Highest part of ourselves and tune into our intuitive abilities. It just takes a willingness, a belief that it’s possible and trust that the information you’re getting is coming from your Highest Self. It’s simple (but not necessarily easy), so I hope you’ll join us.

Komala is such an amazing person. She is originally from Germany and first trained as a naturopathic doctor. She has been practicing meditation for over 40 years. For the past 10 years, she has been involved with researching and practicing principles of neuroscience in connection with mindfulness, consciousness and creating a resilient brain. She has been a Master Practitioner with Sedona Soul Adventures since 2004 and is a Certified Professional Coach and Neuro-Transformational Coach, so the depth of knowledge and wisdom she brings to this is really phenomenal. Thank You For Helping the People of Peru

I’m writing this on Wednesday, the last day of our Peru trip. It’s been such a fantastic trip, the group was so incredibly wonderful (and as usual, fell in love with each other within 48 hours), the weather was absolutely perfect, the ceremonies were moving and it was just a fantastic time.

We ended the last full day of the trip on a beautiful note. Many of you will remember that back in April, we did a very special teleconference with Jorge Luis Delgado, our amazing shaman and guide, about special new teachings about Machu Picchu. We asked for a small donation (just $13) for a project that Jorge has started for the people of Peru.

As you may know, Peru has been hit very hard by the economic effects of COVID, especially people who live in the Highlands. Jorge’s project is to build greenhouses for the planting and nurturing of fruit trees, which will then be given to different communities in Peru. This helps with their agriculture and will feed many people.

So many of you joined us on the teleconference and then many of you donated even more than the suggested $13. In the 2 weeks before the teleconference, we raised over $2,000, which I thought was really wonderful with all these small donations. I was so full of gratitude that I decided that Sedona Soul Adventures would double what was donated.

Then the very generous souls on this trip decided to donate and yesterday I gave Jorge our total donation of $4,600! That’s going to go a long way toward helping the people of Peru.

Jorge has started two other projects now. One is to collect funds for Christmas presents for the children of the Highlands, which I love. The other is a weaving project – gathering funds to purchase materials so that people who do weaving can make shawls, capes, socks, etc. and then sell them. 

As Jorge was explaining to us yesterday, it is twice blessed. It gives people work to do and then these beautiful items can be sold.

Such a Sacred Time in Peru

What a fabulous time we are having on our Peru trip. The weather has been absolutely spectacular. We are below the equator, so it’s technically winter here, but you’d never know it from all the flowers everywhere and the warm temperatures (into the 70’s).

We have a wonderful group, people from all over the world (but mainly from the US), all ages, shapes, sizes and colors. And as usual, we were all in love with each other within 48 hours. That’s one of the things I love so much about our trips.

Machu Picchu has been even more spectacular this year than usual. We’ve had 3 days of just fabulous weather. And because so many people around the world aren’t traveling, there is virtually no one here! So spectacular!

We always go to Machu Picchu on the Solstice and here we are doing ceremony at first light. It’s always otherworldly. Can you see the orb in this photo? Wow! At dinner that night, we had a wonderful discussion about just exactly what orbs are.

And after our sunrise ceremony, a few of us had an adorable encounter for about a ½ hour with this family of llamas. 

They wanted to be with us and we wanted to be with them, it was so cool.

Daddy Issues/How Forgiving our Fathers Leads to Peace and Happiness

After being a Family Law attorney for 20 years and now doing my work with Sedona Soul Adventures for almost 20 years, I am still continually amazed at how almost everyone I come into contact with still has wounds from the past – and in most situations, it’s from things that happened with their parents.

I was thinking about it this week (since it’s Father’s Day), but especially because one of our couples who were here doing a retreat had a huge breakthrough and it all came down to their relationships with their fathers.

In my own life, I spent many years grappling with my relationship with my own father. My dad was a hardworking man and I know in my head that he loved us, but I never felt that in my heart. He grew up in a large German Catholic family (his parents had 20 children – he was number 19!) and in our stoic household, no one ever said “I love you” and I have no memory of being hugged or held.

Worse, when I was 12 years old, my father started an affair with another woman which lasted until my mother’s death 11 years later. He became an alcoholic, had severe financial problems and almost lost his business and our home. My teenage years were ones of turmoil and trauma.

I couldn’t wait to get out of all that craziness and I got married when I was 19. Of course, the marriage failed because I got married for all the wrong reasons. I got married to get away from my family situation, not because I was in love and capable of having a stable, loving relationship. In fact, having a stable and loving relationship was something that I was completely incapable of having.

I started what would become 15 years of therapy when my first marriage ended and in therapy, I made the mental correlation between my upbringing and my failed marriage. But that never healed the ache in my heart. It wasn’t until I was able (through sessions) to go into compassion for my dad and to finally forgive him that the real healing occurred – and that’s what happened with the couple this past week.

Like me, this couple had done many years of therapy.

Like me, they each mentally understood the correlation between their upbringing and problems in their marriage (but having that understanding wasn’t enough to cause anything to be better).

Like me, they thought they had “dealt with” their daddy issues completely.

In their retreat, their initial session as a couple brought some of these issues to the forefront. They had some resistance to even looking at this because they thought they had “dealt with it” already. But it was obviously still there.

In Jane’s Emotional Clearing session (they’ve asked that we change their names for privacy) that she did on her own, she cleared out the energy that her father had wanted a boy and that she was always competing for his love with her younger brother. Her energy had become hyper-masculine and it was showing up not only in her relationship with her husband, but in her work and in her relationships with her friends.

For her husband Ted, in his initial clearing session that he did individually, he cleared out the energy that he was unloveable, that his father didn’t love him, that he was never good enough. He said he felt like he cleared tons of pain away that was just lifted up and out.

And then the big breakthrough happened. In their breath sessions (which they each did separately), it was absolutely amazing that both their fathers (both of whom are deceased) came into their sessions. They each said they felt the presence of their dads, but it was different for each one of them.

For Jane, she literally saw her father. He came to her and spoke to her. He told her that he truly loved her, he showed her images of times when she was growing up that he felt especially close to her. She said she truly felt his love. He told her he was proud of her.

For Ted, it was even more profound. He felt his father’s presence, although he didn’t actually “see” him. He said he felt like his father had somehow connected with him on a cellular level and he felt “almost overwhelmed” by all the love he felt from his father. He said he cried and cried, but they were really tears of joy and of deeply letting go.

They both felt the healing in an instant. Knowing and feeling that they were truly loved by their fathers, healed everything. In an instant, they both felt that the issues between them had been healed.

In their next couples session, they saw how their issues had sprung from their feelings of not being lovable. Now that this was healed, they were able to revel in their newfound love for each other.

Like Jane and Ted, I also had a huge breakthrough with my father during a breath session. In my 15 years of therapy, I had been able to analyze his problems and my problems and I had come to a place of understanding him. But in this breath session, his energy came into my presence and I was able to really see him for the first time.

I saw that he truly loved both my mother and Mary. He was in love with 2 different women and had absolutely no idea how to deal with it. So he dealt with it by self medicating with alcohol. He was in so much pain and so much confusion. I truly felt how much he loved all of us (my mother, my brothers and my sister), but he was in so much pain he could barely function. My heart was full of compassion for him.

Luckily, this happened while he was still alive. I was able to finally have the close relationship I wanted to have with him my entire life. My dad passed away in 2004 and I was with him during the final 2 weeks of his life. One morning in the hospital, a few days before he passed, I was sitting next to him while he was sleeping. He woke up and said to me, “I couldn’t love you anymore than I do.” I’m weeping as I write those words, but they are tears of deeply feeling the love I have for him.

Forgiving my father and coming into love and compassion for him was part of a huge transformation in my life.

Jane and Ted felt like this experience saved their marriage.

For so many others who come to us, healing these wounds moves them into a peace and happiness they’ve never known before.

Almost all of us are grappling with some form of the question of, “Do I truly deserve to be loved?” It shows up in a lot of different ways:

• Sometimes our love relationships don’t work.
• Sometimes it shows up in dissatisfaction in our work.
• Sometimes we do too much for everyone else and don’t take care of ourselves.
• Sometimes it feels like we’re never good enough or we’ll never be happy.

How Kim went from feeling anxious and lost to feeling Fierce!

I say this all the time, but I have to say it again – I’m still so amazed at what happens here at Sedona Soul Adventures. Even though it’s been 19 years and we’ve had thousands and thousands of people do our retreats, I’m still amazed.

We had two different people in particular, who came here over the past few weeks and the transformations were just so incredible. Here’s what Nicole said:

How many things have you had in your life where you can say it was all this?

Oh my Goddess, doesn’t that just make your heart pop? Because that’s really what’s going on. We go through life and we take on the hurts and wounds and the “slings and arrows of outrageous fortune” (as Hamlet said), and all that gunk piles up and it makes us forget who we really are. That underneath all that, is the real you – the you that is connected on all the levels – physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. The you that has never been damaged or hurt. The you that is strong and powerful and feels peaceful and happy. That’s the real you before the world told you who to be.

And Nicole got all that back, so much so, that her friends and family not only see how happy she is, they even think she looks different! And it’s because she does – when you’re really happy and connected, you look and feel different.

And then we have Kim, who was here just a few weeks ago:

Kim was married for 25 years and now is going through a divorce. As she says, when she came to us, she was:

• Feeling out of sorts
• Angry
• Anxious
• All over the place
• Lost

She came to us and after just her first two sessions, she says she was already feeling like a different person. Turning into Fierce Kim!! Isn’t that so great? To go from feeling lost to feeling truly empowered and Fierce?

And here’s the best part. She’s not becoming a completely different person – we’re getting down to the real Kim, the one that feels happy, excited, connected and empowered.

And like I said, that really is the best part – this isn’t about you turning yourself into a completely different person. That makes me tired to even think about it, it sounds so difficult.

The key is that we’re releasing all the hurts, blocks, mud and gunk that’s covering up the real you and bringing you back into connection on all the levels. And when you’re operating in connection on all the levels, your life is happy, content, abundant, peaceful and joyous – all those things that I believe are your birthright.

And when the two of you do that as a couple, all the past hurts and resentments seem to melt away and you can come back into the love and sizzle you crave.

How she went from being “a mess” to “Transformed to my Best self”

I especially loved this situation with Rose, because I so identified with it. She says that when she first came to us she was, in her words, “a mess.” I identified with it because when I came to Sedona for the first time 21 years ago, I was a complete mess in every area of my life. And a lot of people who come to us feel like they’re a mess. Do you feel that way?

In particular, the Doorway of Aramu Muru, which was discovered by Jorge (and which he discusses in his book “Andean Awakenings”).

We are at Machu Picchu for three days – this is important because of the changes. So many other tours only go to Machu Picchu for one day, which I find totally amazing and so sad. They take the train, run around for a few hours and leave. Let me tell you, that is NOT the way to experience Machu Picchu.

The fact that we’re there for three days has become even more important because of changes they’ve initiated in the last 2 years.

Before the changes were made a few years ago, your ticket allowed you to be at Machu Picchu all day. Now, the Peruvian government has changed it so that you are there in the morning or the afternoon, you are not allowed to be there all day.

On our tour, the first day we will be there for the afternoon. The next day, we will get up at dawn to be there at 6 am so that we can do a sunrise ceremony on the Solstice. The next day we will also get up as early as possible so that we can spend the entire morning there. We want everyone to be able to luxuriate in their experience of Machu Picchu.

We’ll be at Machu Picchu on the Solstice! This is one of the most powerful times of the year and we’ll be doing ceremony at sunrise on that special day. It’s always so incredible.

We have so much fun! We do so many amazing, incredible, fun things, in addition to all the beautiful and uplifting spiritual things we do. The shopping is incredible, we go to one of my favorite restaurants in the world, Indio Feliz in Aguas Calientes, and we see so many special places, including the compound and workshop of Seminario, a world famous master of ceramics. He’s a dear friend of Jorge’s and we get to visit with him on almost every trip.

And if you’re traveling alone, that’s no problem! Most of the people on the trip are Singles, you’ll have life long friends within 48 hours… that’s what always happens on our trips.

Peru requires a negative COVID test taken 72 hours before entry into Peru, so we’ll all know our traveling companions have just tested negative! Also, almost the entire trip takes place outdoors in the open air — going to these special places of the Father Sun.

Knowing and Living Your Life Purpose Makes You Live Longer [Study]

We help so many people find and start to live their life purpose, that I was so excited when I saw the results of several studies that researched the impact of knowing and living your life purpose.

The studies were reported by Dr. Sanjay Gupta and the findings are really startling! I know what a difference it made in my life to go from being a divorce attorney who hated my work (and knew there must be something else I was “supposed” to be doing) to doing the work of my dreams with Sedona Soul Adventures. It made me so much happier and healthier, so now to see scientific proof of that is so amazing.

Knowing Your Purpose Helps Your Heart. One study involved 136,000 men and women and found that those with a low sense of purpose (which was measured by psychological surveys) were more likely to have a:

• Stroke
• Heart attack
• Coronary artery disease

For those with a high sense of purpose, there was a 23% reduction in mortality and a 19% decrease in heart problems. That’s the same type of percentage increase you get from exercising regularly!

“What was so remarkable was that regardless of the country where the study was conducted, regardless of how purpose in life was defined, the effect was consistent,” says Cohen, whose findings were published this month in Psychosomatic Medicine: Journal of Biobehavioral Medicine.

As Dr. Gupta reports, “a 2014 study published in The Lancet found that people over age 65 who had a higher personal sense of purpose and well-being were more likely to live longer. Among 9,000 people followed over an 8 ½-year period, 9% of those in the highest well-being category died as compared to 29% in the lowest category.” That’s a difference of 20%!

Knowing your purpose helps your brain. Another study at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago suggests a strong sense of purpose can protect the brain.

“Purpose somehow gives your brain resilience,” says Patricia A. Boyle, PhD, a neuropsychologist with the Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center. “It makes your brain stronger and more resistant to the effects of diseases like Alzheimer’s.”

Participants in the Rush Memory and Aging Project agree to yearly testing and organ donation so that brain tissue can be examined after death. According to four studies published by the research team, subjects who scored higher on the purpose scale were:

• 29% less likely to develop mild cognitive impairment (MCI)
• 52% less likely to develop Alzheimer’s Disease (AD)
• 2 ½ times more likely to be free of dementia
• 44% less likely to have a stroke
• 52.3% less likely to have microscopic blood vessel infarcts that damage brain tissue

So do I have you convinced yet? Live longer, help your heart, help your brain, and be 52% less likely to develop Alzheimer’s Disease by living your passion and purpose, and having more fun along the way!

As I said earlier, finally finding and living my life purpose changed everything for me.

And now so many of the people who come to us come because they know they are supposed to be doing something with their lives. They may not know exactly what that is, but they know they’re supposed to be doing “something.” And it’s so gratifying that part of my life purpose now is to help other people discover and start living their life purpose! It’s kind of amazing when you think about it.

If you know you aren’t living your life purpose and your soul mission, my question to you is, “What are you waiting for?”

Your life is right now. It doesn’t start next year or when you make some more money or when the kids are out of college. And, by the way, if that’s what you’re doing, you’re modeling for your kids that they should do things they don’t want to do, just for money — is that what you want to be teaching your kids?

Don’t do what I did. For 5 years, I would meditate and pray and tell God, “I’m so unhappy, please tell me what to do.” I would hear this voice that would say, “You need to leave your law practice” and I would stop the process right there. I would never even explore it. I had so many excuses — money, time, security, status — that I cut it off before any other information could come through. I put myself through 5 more years of unhappiness and depression. I did it to myself, no one else was doing that to me.

And I didn’t find my purpose until I was 50 years old, so don’t tell me it’s too late for you.

If you have that nagging feeling that you’re supposed to be doing something, it won’t go away. It will only get bigger. It will only make you feel more and more unhappy.

There are two things you can do right now. First, stop telling yourself that you don’t know what you’re supposed to do. That keeps you stuck in the energy of “I don’t know.” Start telling yourself, “I am on the path to discovering my life purpose. I’m looking for my life purpose and my life purpose is looking for me.” That nagging feeling is the Universe talking to you. That is drawing you onto the path. That is truth.

The second thing you can do right now is to do a retreat that’s designed to help you discover and implement your life purpose and soul mission. Call and speak one of our Angel Guides. See these huge monolithic rocks? These are all in Machu Picchu. These are the some of the specific places Jorge will speak about in his talk.

Jorge believes that Machu Picchu contains two temples – the Temple of Father Sun and the Temple of Mother Earth. One of these monolithic rocks supports the Temple of the Father Sun. Below that is the Temple of the Mother Earth. And this is where the Heart of Sacred Machu Picchu is located.

Jorge will be sharing with us the symbols that are projected from the Heart. He’ll be discussing the ley lines (power lines) that connect from here to throughout the world and what this means for the planetary transformations that are happening right now.
